My experience at Hotel Royal Positano was mixed. The amazing views of Positano were definitely a highlight, truly stunning. However, the cleanliness of my room left much to be desired, with issues like ants and a generally worn ambiance that didn’t match the four-star expectations. The service varied; while some staff were helpful, several encounters felt a bit rude, especially when addressing concerns about my stay.

Rooms

The room I stayed in was quite worn, with uncomfortable beds and issues like ants in the bathroom. I had to deal with unpleasant cleanliness standards and a malfunctioning air conditioning unit that made the first few nights unbearable.
Service
5.0
While some staff members were friendly and eager to help, I encountered a lack of urgency when addressing my concerns. This inconsistency in service made me feel a bit undervalued as a guest, which was disappointing.

The hotel is situated beautifully on the hills of Positano, providing amazing views. Yet, it requires a trek back up, which can be tiring after a day spent exploring the town.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was not up to par; it felt lacking in quality and variety. The hot items, like eggs, were overcooked, which was a letdown for starting the day.
Facilities

The pool area showcased beautiful views, but the cleanliness was an issue. The lack of meals served during certain hours was also inconvenient, limiting my options.

5.0/10

My stay at Hotel Royal Positano was a mixed bag. The very nice views over Positano were absolutely stunning, and I appreciated the friendly staff who did their best to make me feel welcome. However, I ran into issues like the awkward room layout that came with a bad smell and uncomfortable sleeping arrangements. The dining options were decent but didn't impress, and the trek down the numerous steps to the town was tiring after a long day of exploring.

Rooms
5.0
The room was a confusing maze to get to, and while the sea view was amazing, I had to deal with a damp smell and an uncomfortable fold-out bed. The bathroom felt cramped and outdated, with a showerhead that was almost useless.
Service
6.0
The staff were generally friendly, with some standout moments of helpfulness, particularly from Maria at the restaurant. However, inconsistencies in service left me feeling a bit let down at times.
Location
6.0
The hotel is perched high in the hills, which offers amazing views but also means a challenging walk down to the town through over 400 steps. The bus offered a good alternative, but it sometimes felt inconvenient.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was acceptable with some nice fresh juices, but overall, the dining experience didn’t live up to my expectations. I found better food options in town after my first few meals here.
Facilities
6.0
The pool area was clean and pleasant to use, and I appreciated the onsite services like room service and tours/ticket assistance, but overall facilities felt a bit outdated and in need of better maintenance.

6.4/10

My stay had some highs and lows. The amazing views were truly stunning, but the room was something else — old and not well-maintained. The breakfast spread was decent, but I did experience a few service hiccups, which made things frustrating at times.

Rooms
5.0
I found my room spacious, but it was definitely showing its age, with worn furniture and a bit of mildew smell. The air conditioning unit was super noisy, making it hard to relax.
Service
5.0
While some staff were friendly, I encountered a couple who seemed disinterested and unhelpful, which was a real letdown.
Location
6.0
The hotel was perched on the hills, giving me stunning vistas, but getting around was a bit of a trek, especially since it was far from the main area of Positano.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast had a solid variety and the fresh-squeezed orange juice was a highlight, although food replenishment could be slow.
Facilities
5.0
The pool area was nice and had plenty of seating, but Wi-Fi barely worked anywhere outside the lobby, which was inconvenient.

My recent week at Hotel Royal Positano had its ups and downs. The amazing views from the hotel were absolutely stunning, allowing me to wake up to picturesque scenery every morning. However, I did notice that the hotel itself could use some attention, as certain amenities felt a bit outdated. The staff were friendly and helpful, but I did encounter varying levels of service in the restaurant, which could be improved.

Rooms
8.0
My room was clean and had a lovely view of the pool and sea, although I noticed some areas of the hotel furniture and decor needed updating.
Service
7.0
While the majority of the staff were friendly and helpful, there were moments where I encountered some less than gracious service in the restaurant.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location at the top of Positano provided really good views and easy access to local bus services, though the steep walk down to the town may not suit everyone.
Dining
6.0
The food in the restaurant was decent, with a reasonable selection, but I found some menu items to be a bit overpriced for what they offered.
Facilities
7.0
The pool area was a nice feature, especially given the small beaches in Positano, but I wish there had been more attention to detail regarding pest control, as mosquitoes were prevalent.

My stay at Hotel Royal Positano was overall a good experience, highlighted by stunning views of the Amalfi Coast. though there were moments that could have used improvement. The room was clean and offered a lovely sea view, and the friendly staff went out of their way to assist. However, I did notice a few quirks, like the need for a bath cap in the pool and some minor issues with pests in the vicinity. Still, the atmosphere of the location made it all worthwhile.

Rooms

My room was impressive, clean, and had amazing views. yet some areas of the hotel could use a bit of attention.
Service

The staff were generally kind and attentive, especially Renato and Anna. though some others could have been more welcoming at times.
Location

Positioned on the hills of Positano, the hotel offered very nice sightseeing opportunities. but the 400 steps down to the beach might be challenging for some.

The pool area was a great escape, clean, and well-kept. but I would have loved to see additional enhancements made to the overall facility.
